DROST (Gee) – Patricia Drost, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 12, 2015. Pat was born in Bailey, MI, and moved to Grand Rapids after graduating from Grant High School. Even though Alzheimer's disease claimed her mind, Pat's wit, kindness and love of nature never left her. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and taking care of her family. For most of her life, Pat had a camera in her hand and recorded many family events, big and small.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Carl Drost; parents, Orrin and Elsie Gee; stepmother, Marion Gee; and sister, Virginia Zimmerman.

Pat will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joan (Randy) Hamstra, Carol Drost, Nancy (David) Leist, and Douglas (Karin) Drost; grandchildren, Katie (Matt) De Kam, Emily Hamstra (Hung Truong), Frannie McIntrye, and Jacob, Christopher and Roxana Drost; great grandchildren, James and Marta De Kam; and nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Georgetown Manor and Spectrum Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother.

The funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday at the St. John's UCC, 1934 Bridge NW, Grand Rapids, with Pastor Bill Lyons officiating. Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville (West Building) and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. John's UCC. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.
