Jessica Lee Hook age 29 died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 21, 2012. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents Sue Ann and Jim Hook; sister Melinda Hook; grandmother Agatha Symons; Uncle Tom (Cindy) Symons and their daughters Julia (Niels) Cooper, Jennifer Symons; Uncle Greg (Kathy) Symons and their children Greg (Lisa) Symons, Becky (Mike) Kamchatov; Aunt Sue (Michael) Gubert; cousins Marilyn Nichols, Carolyn Hook; her best and life-long friend Melinda Rose. Jessica died from injuries suffered in a car accident. Jessica attended St. John Vianney Elementary, Byron Center High School and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a fine arts degree. She continued her education for another year in Ottawa Canada at St Augustine College to receive a certificate in classical studies. She lived her faith in God and was a member of the Young Adults at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Grand Rapids. Jessica thoroughly enjoyed Irish dancing and met regularly with a local group of dancers and attended out of state conventions. She had a lifelong passion for reading, gardening with flowers, music, visual and performing arts. She was a devoted friend and family member. Jessica had a wonderful sense of humor and was a comfort to those who needed her. She was a bright star to those who knew and loved her.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm (vigil at 7pm), Monday June 25, 2012 at Cook Funeral Home 2067 84th St SW, Byron Center. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday June, 26th at St. Andrew’s Cathedral 215 Sheldon SE, Grand Rapids with visitation one hour prior. Father Marcos Zamora will be officiating. In honor of Jessica, contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
