Johanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Ronald R. Cook; her children, Fred (Kathy VanZytveld) Cook, Brad (Jeanne Oosterbaan) Cook, Lee (Mary Goffe) Cook, Jean Alice (Jon) Van Den Beldt; her grandchildren, Leanne (Scott) Gurley, Ronald R. She and Ron were a team and in their early twenties, worked together to start Cook Funeral Home in 1957, which is now in its third generation of family service. Later in life they continued their teamwork in co-founding Byron Center Manor in 1989. She was known as a precise and witty lady. In her free time she enjoyed her dogs, cross-stitch, reading and traveling. Johanne loved to walk the beaches of Anna Maria Island. Johanne suffered for 25 years from Alzheimer's which inspired the building of Meadow Place at Byron Center Manor.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Johanne's family will be held from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home in BYRON CENTER, 2067 – 84th St. SW and 4 to 7 PM Thursday at Cook Memorial Chapel in GRANDVILLE, 4235 Prairie St. SW (east building). Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Rev. Bud Pratt will be officiating.
